The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Holliday misses its intended target.
Hall throws a big shot that misses.

Hall connects with a looping right hand.
Hall jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hall misses with a hook
and Holliday cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Holliday has been working on his boxing with his coaches at League of Shadows MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Holliday moves out of range as Hall strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hall scores with a nice right hand.

Holliday lands a big right hand that sends Hall crashing to the mat! Holliday stays standing though and waves Hall back to his feet!

Hall bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Holliday is looking for a sweep.
Holliday is not content to let Hall control the position.

Holliday is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hall is controlling him well.
Holliday tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Hall tries to advance to mount but Holliday denies him.
Holliday is letting Hall control him for a moment.

Holliday is not content to let Hall control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hall connects with a crisp jab.

and Holliday takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hall blocks a jab.
John Henry Holliday is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Holliday takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Hall throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hall steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Holliday.

Holliday swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Richard Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Holliday misses with a hook. Hall ducked under it nicely.

and Holliday cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Holliday sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hall somewhat.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Henry Holliday will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

John Henry Holliday decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
