PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julius Howell (ranked 930 p4p, 2027 weight class) and Char Donnay (ranked 109 p4p, 248 weight class). Howell's entrance music is HonestKey- The Unseen. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Char Donnay!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donnay tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Howell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Donnay gets the takedown into side control.
Donnay working the ground and pound.
Donnay lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Howell is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Donnay drops an elbow to the side of Howell's head.
Donnay thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Howell's head.
Howell trying to control but Donnay postures up.
Donnay throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Donnay is nestled in close to Howell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Donnay takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Howell wants to control but Donnay is keeping busy.
Donnay looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Howell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

It looks like Julius Howell has been cut.
Howell is looking for a sweep. Donnay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Donnay is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Julius Howell's cut is getting worse.
Donnay wants to pass the guard but Howell is defending well.
Donnay thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Howell looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Donnay working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Julius Howell's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Donnay is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Donnay is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Howell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Howell takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Jeez, Julius Howell's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Julius Howell's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
