PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sean O Rally (ranked 2172 p4p, 1711 weight class) and Giacomo Bandolero (ranked 160 p4p, 124 weight class). Bandolero is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bandolero. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean O Rally!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Giacomo Bandolero!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bandolero throws a series of punches but O Rally avoids them all with ease.
O Rally connects with a looping right hand.
Bandolero falls off balance throwing a combination
and O Rally counters with a nice uppercut.

O Rally darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

O Rally is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
O Rally tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bandolero knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
O Rally slows the pace down in half guard.

O Rally looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bandolero tries to get to full guard but O Rally has control of the leg.
O Rally content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
O Rally will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

O Rally is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bandolero sees it coming and defends easily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Bandolero is trying to control the position but O Rally postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bandolero shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as O Rally sprawls well. O Rally wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bandolero gets slowly back to his feet.

It looked like O Rally was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Bandolero.
O Rally is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

O Rally lands with an uppercut that bounces Bandolero off the cage and back into range.

Bandolero closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

O Rally is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bandolero pulls his head out easily.
Bandolero works his foot free and advances to mount.

O Rally suckers Bandolero into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! O Rally is now in Bandolero's guard!
Our spies down at at Deathsquad inform us that Bandolero has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

No joy there for Bandolero, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

O Rally is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Bandolero fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

It looks like O Rally has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bandolero is defended easily by O Rally.
It looked like O Rally wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Bandolero tries to clinch but O Rally moves out of range.
O Rally clobbers Bandolero with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
O Rally rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bandolero moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
O Rally throws a hook but Bandolero blocks it.

O Rally was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
O Rally misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Bandolero shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. O Rally manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

O Rally throws an overhand right that lands on Bandolero's shoulder, as Bandolero tries to avoid the shot.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

O Rally is positioning himself well to prevent Bandolero advancing to mount.
Bandolero thows a huge punch but O Rally dodges it nicely.

Bandolero is looking for a kimura but O Rally is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bandolero to get the leverage.
O Rally regains full guard. Nicely done.
Bandolero not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

O Rally escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bandolero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

O Rally looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bandolero has picked O Rally up and slammed him! O Rally can't keep hold of the triangle and Bandolero manages to pass to side control!

O Rally wants to control but Bandolero postures up.

O Rally is controlling Bandolero's trapped leg to prevent Bandolero from advancing to side control.

Bandolero is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but O Rally is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

O Rally really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
