PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ameen Robertson (ranked 1180 p4p, 2247 weight class) and Rudi Kardi (ranked 153 p4p, 258 weight class). Robertson comes to the cage accompanied by Regulate - Nate Dogg & Warren G. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ameen Robertson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 2, fighting out of London, Rudi Kardi!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robertson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kardi.
Robertson misses with a jab to the body

and Kardi counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Robertson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

It looks like Rudi Kardi has been cut.
Kardi tries for a takedown. No joy.
Kardi has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Robertson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kardi is looking to take this one to the mat.

Robertson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kardi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Robertson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kardi but great work by Robertson.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kardi has his foot on Robertson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Robertson works his way back into a safe position though.

Kardi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Robertson is just riding it out for now. Kardi eventually gives up the hold.

Kardi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kardi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Robertson's head.

That was a close round but I would say that Ameen Robertson will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Robertson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
