Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Time To Fight Wright (ranked 389 p4p, 836 weight class) and Chris Pauschi (ranked 50 p4p, 106 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Time To Fight Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris Pauschi!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pauschi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wright moves away.
Wright missing with a left hand there. Pauschi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Pauschi throws a low kick but Wright avoids it.
Pauschi stuffs the takedown attempt from Wright. Wright gets slowly back to his feet.
Wright blocks a head kick by Pauschi.
Pauschi dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wright. That did some damage!
Wright misses with a series of wild punches.
Wright is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pauschi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Pauschi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Wright walks into a stiff left hand from Pauschi.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright thuds his right hand into Pauschi's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Pauschi takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

It looks like Chris Pauschi has been cut.

Wright throws a good cross that connects.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pauschi fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Wright is out of range.

Wright changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pauschi tries to avoid it but Wright manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pauschi to the ground. Pauschi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Time To Fight Wright. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pauschi takes one on the button.
Wright looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wright moves out of range of the body kick.
Wright circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wright tries to counter with a takedown but Pauschi is quick to defend against it.
Wright checks a leg kick.
Wright is looking to counter punch.
Pauschi lands a leg kick that knocks Wright off balance momentarily.
Wright works the jab nicely.

Wright shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wright showed some decent athleticism there.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wright in particular looking to stall.
Wright stalling away here and it's allowed Pauschi to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wright stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pauschi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pauschi has his hands on Wright's head, controlling the position.

Pauschi wants to stand but Wright is controlling the position.
Wright postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pauschi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pauschi tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wright throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Wright slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Wright shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Wright seems to be looking for submissions.
Pauschi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Wright wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pauschi keeps working.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Time To Fight Wright is winning the standup battle so far.
Wright fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Wright shoots for a takedown but Pauschi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Pauschi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wright to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Wright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pauschi is on top in guard.


Wright is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Pauschi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pauschi wants to pass the guard but Wright is keeping the position.

Wright is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Pauschi has his hands clasped together but Wright extends and breaks Pauschi's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Wright.
