Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 2987 p4p, 2394 weight class) and Dodong Janjan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Janjan has chosen Love Addict as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kuroda Atsushi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dodong Janjan!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atsushi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Atsushi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Atsushi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Janjan, who protects the arm well.
Atsushi trying to control the action but Janjan is working from the bottom.

Atsushi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Janjan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Atsushi is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Janjan's shoulder. That is not cool.
We've been hearing good reports from Atsushi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Atsushi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Janjan keeps working.

Janjan is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Atsushi controlling from side mount.
Janjan tries to buck Atsushi off but Atsushi is having none of it.
Atsushi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Janjan keeps working.

Atsushi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Janjan tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Janjan is not content to let Atsushi control the position.
Janjan defending against the ground and pound.

Atsushi tries for a kimura but Janjan is defending well.
Atsushi is looking to take a break and control but Janjan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Janjan is letting Atsushi control him for a moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Atsushi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Janjan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Atsushi fakes the leg kick and cracks Janjan in the body.
Atsushi with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Janjan to score with a decent uppercut.
Janjan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Atsushi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Atsushi passes the guard and advances to mount!

Atsushi goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Janjan is on top in guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Atsushi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Janjan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Atsushi seems keen to control Janjan's posture.
Janjan connects with a couple of short punches.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Atsushi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Atsushi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Janjan keeps working.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Atsushi connects with a single shot there.
Janjan throws the left hand but Atsushi avoids the punch easily.
Janjan fails with the takedown.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Atsushi is keen to just control but Janjan is a slippery customer.
Janjan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Atsushi looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Janjan regains full guard. Nicely done.
Atsushi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Janjan regains half guard there - taking advantage of Atsushi's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Atsushi wants to free his trapped foot but Janjan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Atsushi is working hard here to advance position.

Janjan wants to get back to full guard.

Atsushi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Janjan is looking for a sweep. Atsushi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Atsushi is trying to control. Janjan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Decent striking displayed by Atsushi there.
Atsushi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Atsushi closes the distance and clinches.
A right hook to the body lands for Atsushi.
Atsushi lands with a short shot to the head.
Atsushi stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Atsushi misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Janjan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Atsushi gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Atsushi.

Atsushi has Janjan pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Atsushi pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Janjan tumbling to the mat - Atsushi dives into Janjan's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Atsushi lands with an uppercut that bounces Janjan off the cage and back into range.
Atsushi with a nice calf kick.
Atsushi moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Janjan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Atsushi.
The fighters circle momentarily. Atsushi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Atsushi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Janjan napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Janjan is trying to get back to half guard.
Janjan keeps trying to improve his position.

Janjan managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Atsushi.
Atsushi cracks Janjan with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Atsushi looking to control but instead Janjan has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Atsushi seems to be working for a kimura but Janjan defends the submission attempt.
Janjan keeping hold of Atsushi's head, controlling as best he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kuroda Atsushi is winning the standup battle so far.

Atsushi gets the takedown into side control.

Atsushi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Janjan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Atsushi but great work by Janjan.
Janjan lands an elbow.
Atsushi manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Atsushi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Janjan has managed to free his arm - good work.

Kuroda Atsushi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Atsushi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
