Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kirsnick Khari Ball (ranked 3446 p4p, 2862 weight class) and Shaman Weaver (ranked 334 p4p, 276 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Weaver's choice of entrance music: Close Your Eyes by Acen. Shaman Weaver has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kirsnick Khari Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shaman Weaver!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weaver dives in and scores a takedown into Ball's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Weaver trying to control but Ball is working from the bottom.

Weaver postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ball is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Weaver, into his guard.

Ball wants to pass the guard but Weaver is keeping the position.

Weaver is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ball defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weaver pulls Ball in close to his closed guard and prevents Ball from doing any damage or advancing position.
Weaver is trying to control the position but Ball postures up.

Ball controls from within his opponent's guard.

Ball wants to control from the top but Weaver keeps moving.
Ball looking to sit in guard and control but Weaver gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ball seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Ball utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Weaver swings around for an armbar but Ball sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Weaver's guard.

Ball has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Ball shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Weaver shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ball napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Weaver thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Weaver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ball can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Weaver is looking to sweep but instead, Ball has passed into half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ball is looking to stall here but Weaver recovers full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Weaver has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ball has passed into side control.

Shaman Weaver showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well Weaver has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
