Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DB Cooper (ranked 4143 p4p, 4268 weight class) and Ovince Marchessault (ranked 0 p4p, 420 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ovince Marchessault!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Cooper. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cooper.
Cooper lands the left hand.
Cooper connects with a crisp jab.
Cooper lands a jab-cross combination.
Cooper scores with a body shot.
Cooper cracks a nice hook into Marchessault's ribs.
Cooper rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Marchessault moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Marchessault on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cooper lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cooper lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Marchessault throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cooper was covering up waiting for the punch and Marchessault finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Marchessault slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marchessault pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cooper is keeping the position for now.
Marchessault slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Cooper keeping moving, preventing Marchessault from controlling successfully.

Marchessault drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cooper manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Marchessault has Cooper in his guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Marchessault wants to sweep but no luck.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marchessault can do anything to dispel that myth.
Marchessault looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Marchessault bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cooper's guard.

Marchessault drops back looking for a leg! Cooper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cooper manages to kick Marchessault off! Marchessault jumps back into Cooper's guard.
Marchessault in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Marchessault trying to control but Cooper is working from the bottom.
Marchessault working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Marchessault not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cooper utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Marchessault is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Cooper tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Marchessault wants to control from the top but Cooper keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Marchessault has taken the fight to the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Marchessault.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

DB Cooper dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Cooper sizes up Marchessault with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Cooper is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Marchessault throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cooper tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Marchessault is in Cooper's guard.

Marchessault drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Marchessault as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Cooper screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Marchessault! Nice submission victory there!
