Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bryce Turner (ranked 4251 p4p, 4123 weight class) and Joel Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 239 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez shoots in looking for a takedown but Turner manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gomez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gomez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nice sprawl there from Gomez as Turner shoots in.

Gomez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Turner wants to get back to his feet.

Gomez is looking for a kimura but Turner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gomez to get the leverage.
Turner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gomez wants to stand up but Turner has a hold of him and won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bryce Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joel Gomez.
