PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ray White (ranked 868 p4p, 1027 weight class) and Jimmy Jackman (ranked 68 p4p, 82 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think White might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to HonestKey- Change. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Jackman!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White misses with a looping right.
Jackman lands with a right hand.
Jackman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but White avoids it really well and circles away.
A little feinted left hand from White on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
White steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jackman.
White drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jackman sprawls and moves away.
Jackman throws a big shot that misses.
White attempts a counter takedown but Jackman avoids it well and moves away.
White lands a right hook to the body.
White throws a poor cross that misses
and Jackman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

White misses with a hook.
White walks into a stiff left hand from Jackman.
Jackman misses with a straight left.

White just misses with a punch to the body.
White fails with a takedown attempt.

Jackman throws an ugly left hook that misses
and White counters with a nice uppercut.
White shoots in for a takedown but Jackman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jackman throws out a loose jab but White uses good head movement to avoid it.
White attempts a counter takedown but Jackman avoids it well and moves away.

Jackman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jackman throws a jab when White was well out of range.
Jackman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jackman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from White.
White looks to land a left hand but Jackman moved out of range nicely.
White thows a left - swing and a miss!

and White counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jackman!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

White throws a strike aimed at the side of Jackman's head but Jackman avoids it well.

White tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jackman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but White wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
White fails to land a wild elbow strike.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackman is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

White tries to escape but Jackman has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Jackman is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. White is defending well though. Jackman let's go of the attempt for now.

Jackman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. White defends it easily.

White got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jackman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, White has managed to get both his arms back between Jackman's legs - danger averted.
White throws a big elbow that misses.
White advances position into side control!
White wants to control but Jackman is keeping him busy.

White is trying to get an arm triangle but Jackman is defending well.
White misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Jackman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

White working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
White in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Jackman felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
White grinds an elbow into Jackman's temple.

White takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Jackman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent White stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and White decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jackman's guard.
White definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
White throwing strikes but missing.

White stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jackman looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but White is defending well. Jackman quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! White has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jackman celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jimmy Jackman!
Jimmy Jackman decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
In defeat, Ray White stepped up to the mic, saying 'Man, I can't believe I just lost to Jimmy Jackman, I thought for sure I'd leave you tappin', call it a bad plan or a missed action, And if you're thinkin im gonna retire soon - NO bitch quit askin, I'm in this til I cant stand up- cuz it's passion!'.
