The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Smith holds on and takes a little breather.
Uno pushing down on Smith's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Smith is looking for a sweep. Uno is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Uno thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smith's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Uno looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Uno wants to advance to full mount but Smith doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Uno forces his way into half guard.
Smith tries to roll over but Uno keeps him under control.
Smith trying to hold on to Uno's head to control him but Uno postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Uno wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Uno moves nicely into side control.
Uno tries to advance to mount but can't.
Smith tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Smith scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Uno takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

It looks like Bb Fighter Uno has been cut.
Uno misses with a takedown

and Smith counters with a crisp one two that drops Uno! Smith thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Uno to his feet! Uno is in big trouble!
Uno tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smith defends well and Uno ends up having to push Smith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Uno shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Phillip Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bb Fighter Uno.
Smith connects with a body shot that sends Uno's belly button to the back.
Uno changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Uno manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Uno throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Uno finishes the takedown easily into guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Uno slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Uno thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Smith fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Uno on the side of the head.
Uno misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A quick step to the side and Smith tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bb Fighter Uno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Smith looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Smith stuns Uno with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Uno takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Smith counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
