The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The King fails with the takedown

Montrose shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as The King sprawls well. The King wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Montrose gets slowly back to his feet.

Montrose tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but The King defends well and Montrose ends up having to push The King into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Montrose is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Montrose is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Montrose is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. The King doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Montrose.

Montrose clinches up with The King and pushes him back against the cage.

Montrose is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Montrose. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The King throws a big right hand that misses.
Montrose is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that The King can do to turn this around?

Montrose has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes The King off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
The King throws a series of punches but Montrose moves out of range.
Montrose shoots for a double leg takedown but The King sprawls well. He's pushed Montrose's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Montrose throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around The King 's waist but The King gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Montrose off to one side.
Montrose moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
The King fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The King throws the left hand but Montrose avoids the punch easily.
Montrose feints a jab promting The King to slip. Montrose then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. The King slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Kamehameha The King has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The King wants to break free but Montrose has control.

The King is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Montrose is defending well.

Montrose looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Montrose fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with The King , pushing him back against the cage.

The King is breathing heavily.
Montrose drops down looking for an ankle pick but The King pulls his leg out and moves away.

Montrose lands a left and a right that send The King crashing to the mat, dazed. Montrose thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Montrose is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - The King is in big trouble! Montrose is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking The King . Poor guy.

A relieved looking Bastien Montrose thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
