The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belmiro takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A telegraphed right hand from Belmiro misses the target.
Belmiro lands with a right hand.
Belmiro doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
McGriff jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
McGriff throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
McGriff lands with a slapping head kick.

Belmiro shoots in and bounces McGriff off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Belmiro lands a couple of digs.
McGriff avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Belmiro throws an elbow that misses. McGriff uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Belmiro's guard. Nice move by McGriff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Belmiro is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Belmiro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McGriff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McGriff slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
