The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kay shoots in but no luck this time.
Kay looks for a takedown but Rivera sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kay.
Max Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ross Kay.
No luck for Rivera with that takedown attempt.
Rivera lands a high kick!

It looks like Ross Kay has been cut.

Kay scores with a takedown into Rivera's guard.
Kay throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rivera works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rivera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kay drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kay jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
