Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dill Nickle (ranked 1483 p4p, 1812 weight class) and Jaxon Williams (ranked 134 p4p, 160 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jaxon Williams was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dill Nickle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaxon Williams!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams dives in and grabs Nickle's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nickle pushes down on Williams's head and hops out.
A counter left hand to the body from Nickle misses its target.

Williams moves into the clinch successfully.
Williams jumps guard but Nickle stands there with Williams around his waist. Williams gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nickle lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Nickle sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Williams defending well though.
Nickle with the ground and pound but Williams uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Williams is trying to keep Nickle in close.
Nickle throwing strikes from guard but Williams blocks nicely.
Williams preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nickle trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Nickle distracts Williams with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Nickle wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.
Williams has his hands on Nickle's head, controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nickle postures up in Williams's guard and throws a big left but Williams blocks it.
Williams keeping moving, preventing Nickle from controlling successfully.
Nickle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Williams looking to control.
Williams is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Nickle throws a strike but Williams rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nickle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Williams.

Williams stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Nickle has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Williams manages to get his head free but now Nickle has transitioned to an armbar! Williams grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Nickle! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dill Nickle!
