Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Lamont (ranked 4399 p4p, 4283 weight class) and Genyo Takeda (ranked 182 p4p, 170 weight class). Genyo Takeda will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeda looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lamont fails with a takedown attempt.
Takeda misses with a series of wild punches.
Lamont appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Takeda lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Lamont seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Takeda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lamont connects with a nice short shot to Takeda's temple.

Lamont is nestled in close to Takeda, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Takeda can do anything to dispel that myth.

Takeda is looking to reverse the position.

and Takeda counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

It seemed like Takeda was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Lamont goes for a takedown attempt but Takeda pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lamont walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Takeda cracks Lamont's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Lamont slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Takeda can do further damage! This one is done, son!

Genyo Takeda decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
