PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Renan Silva (ranked 5047 p4p, 5799 weight class) and Triple Decker (ranked 436 p4p, 461 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Silva might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to “Ak Do Flamego”. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Triple Decker!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decker shoots and misses
and Silva counters with a nice uppercut.
Silva dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Decker looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Decker is not content to let Silva control the position.
Silva throws a strike aimed at the side of Decker's head but Decker avoids it well.

Silva has his foot on Decker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Decker works his way back into a safe position though.

Decker drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Decker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Decker's legs - danger averted.

That was a close second round but I would say that Renan Silva will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Decker takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Horrible takedown attempt by Decker or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva, which made it look bad.
Renan Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Triple Decker.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Silva enables Decker to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silva manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Decker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
