Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adaru Kitano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kitano has chosen Arch Enemy - We Will Rise as his entrance music. Adaru Kitano has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adaru Kitano!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kitano swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mason avoids the body shot from Kitano.
Kitano avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mason.
Mason takes a jab right on the kisser.
Mason lands a high kick to the side of Kitano's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Mason dives into guard, looking to finish.


Kitano is rocked!


It looks like Adaru Kitano has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kitano looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kitano is still in real trouble! Can Mason finish him?
Kitano is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kitano seems to have recovered his senses.

Kitano had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mason is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kitano Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mason's back instead.
Mason rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Mason is pressing down on Kitano's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Mason looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Mason is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kitano trying to control but Mason is working from the bottom.

Mason tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mason wants to get back to his feet but Kitano is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kitano stands up from Mason's guard - Kitano perhaps looking for a knockout.

Mason moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Jay Mason is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kitano looks gassed!

Mason closes the distance and clinches.
Mason misses with a knee to the head.

Kitano tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mason just stands there and leans against the cage.

Mason using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kitano has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Mason just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kitano's brow.

Kitano pulls guard effortlessly.

Mason avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kitano wants to sweep but no luck.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kitano working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mason doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mason manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mason forces his way into half guard.

Mason is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kitano makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kitano.
Kitano is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kitano has a closed guard, preventing Mason from standing up.

Kitano looking for a guillotine here but Mason defends easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Mason has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kitano is proving hard to escape from.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mason drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kitano dives on top into guard.

Mason is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kitano is aware though and is defending well.

Kitano drops back looking for a leg! Mason is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mason manages to kick Kitano off! Kitano jumps back into Mason's guard.

Kitano got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mason has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kitano has managed to get both his arms back between Mason's legs - danger averted.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kitano trying to control the position from guard on top but Mason is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Mason dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Adaru Kitano's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kitano wants to slow Mason down by chopping away at his legs.
Kitano fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kitano uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mason has time to react.
Kitano misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Adaru Kitano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mason connects with a solid leg kick.
Mason finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Mason wants to clinch up but Kitano keeps it at a distance.
Mason fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kitano checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Kitano is breathing heavily.
Kitano just misses with a punch to the body.
Mason misses with a head kick.
Mason pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big left from Kitano misses.

Kitano looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mason manages to get to full guard.
Kitano trying to control but Mason is working from the bottom.

Mason has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kitano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kitano got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mason has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kitano has managed to get both his arms back between Mason's legs - danger averted.

Kitano drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kitano jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kitano wants to control from the top but Mason keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mason is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kitano rolls with it to try and escape but Mason cranks on the arm and Kitano is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jay Mason!
