PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bosko Brown (ranked 5700 p4p, 3082 weight class) and Bob Le Boulder (ranked 224 p4p, 145 weight class). Le Boulder has chosen Monty Python Lumberjack Song as his entrance music. Bosko Brown has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bosko Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Le Boulder!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Le Boulder drives through with a takedown into guard.
Le Boulder controls from within his opponent's guard.
Let's hope that Le Boulder has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Le Boulder postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Brown will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Le Boulder seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown keeping full guard, as Le Boulder tries to pass.
Le Boulder told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown wants to stand up but Le Boulder is controlling him.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Le Boulder drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brown can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Le Boulder controls the pace.
Brown can't keep his opponent in guard - Le Boulder advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Well, if Le Boulder is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Le Boulder tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brown knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Le Boulder looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Le Boulder trying to mount his opponent but Brown defends it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Le Boulder moves into full mount! Brown won't be happy about that!
Brown has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Le Boulder biding his time, controlling Brown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Le Boulder might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Brown trying to get back to his feet but Le Boulder is in full control for now.
Le Boulder throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Le Boulder just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Brown wants to get back to his feet.
Le Boulder missing with punches from the back.
Le Boulder biding his time, looking for the opening.
Brown is trying to get back to his feet but Le Boulder has full control of the position and if anything, Brown has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Le Boulder controls the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Le Boulder is continuing to stall.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Le Boulder looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Brown taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bob Le Boulder!
An out of breath and clearly excited Bob Le Boulder thanked Pulling Guard for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
