Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dimebag Abbot (ranked 3840 p4p, 3473 weight class) and Del Salar (ranked 410 p4p, 372 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dimebag Abbot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Del Salar!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbot misses with a wild body shot.
Nice shot lands for Abbot.
Salar displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Abbot throws out the jab.
Abbot lands a nice shot to the body.
A slow jab from Abbot misses its intended target.
Abbot lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Salar at a distance.
Abbot misses with a hook
and Salar counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salar looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Salar has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Abbot finds it's way round the side to connect with Salar's head.
Salar jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Salar throws a body shot but no joy.
Abbot is looking to counter punch.
Salar takes a jab right on the kisser.
Abbot fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Salar now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Abbot throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Salar sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Abbot clinches up with Salar and pushes him back against the cage.

Salar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Abbot lands a glancing blow to the side of Salar's head.
Nice shot lands for Salar.
Abbot misses with a left hand

and Salar counters with a nice right hand that sends Abbot toppling to the canvas! Abbot scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Salar finish him?!

Abbot is rocked!

It looks like Dimebag Abbot has been cut.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Abbot drives through with a takedown into guard.
Salar is looking to sweep but instead, Abbot has passed into half guard.
Abbot seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Salar is looking to control Abbot's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Salar avoid being mounted?

Salar has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Worn Leather MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Abbot is trying to pull guard but Salar turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Abbot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Salar can do to turn this around?

Abbot throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Salar gets tackled into the cage by Abbot. Abbot maintains the clinch.
Abbot lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Salar backwards.

I was talking to Abbot's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Salar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Abbot is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Salar defends well.

Abbot has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Salar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Salar wants to stand and escape but Abbot is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Salar tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Abbot closes the distance but Salar moves to the side
and Salar counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Abbot connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Abbot takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Salar scores with a jab to the jaw.
Abbot shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Salar counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Salar takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Dimebag Abbot is winning the standup battle so far.

Salar missing with a left hand there. Abbot was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Abbot looks to land a left hand but Salar moved out of range nicely.
A countering left hand to the body from Salar misses.

and Salar counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Abbot thinking.
Salar lands a nice looking body shot.
Abbot clobbers Salar with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Salar avoids the body shot from Abbot.

Dimebag Abbot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abbot connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Abbot misses the body punch
and Salar counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Abbot. Salar does a little dance to reset his feet.
Abbot throws out a loose jab but Salar uses good head movement to avoid it.
Abbot throws a poor cross that misses
and Salar counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Salar misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Abbot cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Abbot is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Abbot throws an overhand right that lands on Salar's shoulder, as Salar tries to avoid the shot.
Abbot seems to have got his legs back now.
Abbot fails to land with a series of punches.
Abbot looks to clinch
and Salar scores with a counter punch that sends Abbot to the canvas! Salar smells blood - he's punishing Abbot with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Abbot has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Del Salar!
During a confident post fight interview, Del Salar thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
