And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alistair Fallas!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wolford looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Fallas!
Wolford moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Fallas is looking to reverse the position.

Wolford wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fallas, who protects the arm well.
Wolford is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Fallas's shoulder. That is not cool.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wolford throws an elbow but Fallas slips to the side and avoids it well.
Wolford misses with the ground and pound.
Wolford is looking to take a break and control but Fallas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wolford looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Fallas is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Wolford is working for a submission of some sort.
Wolford throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Wolford trying to control from Fallas's half guard. Fallas has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Fallas lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

My spies in Gym inform me that Fallas has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fallas wants to free his trapped foot but Wolford is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Fallas prevents Wolford from improving his position.
Wolford wants to control but Fallas is keeping busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Wolford misses with a looping left.

Wolford closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fallas quickly recovers to half guard.

Fallas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wolford's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wolford's back!
Fallas is hanging on to Wolford's back as he tries to escape.
Wolford trying to control the hands but Fallas won't let him.

Fallas lands strikes to the head.
Fallas doesn't have the hooks in and Wolford manages to turn into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wolford stopping the sweep attempt from Fallas.
Wolford wants to control from the top but Fallas keeps moving.
Wolford throwing strikes from guard but Fallas blocks nicely.
Wolford trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Wolford slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fallas wants to sweep here but Wolford controlling him for the moment.
Fallas wants to hit a sweep here but Wolford passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Fallas there!

Fallas is wriggling around trying to escape.

Fallas wants to hold on but Wolford pushes him away.
Fallas seems to have recovered his senses.
Wolford thowing shots but they're missing.
Wolford connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Wolford is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Fallas can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wolford lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Fallas! Wolford sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Fallas and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rodney Wolford!
Rodney Wolford decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
