Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Albertson!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Albertson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Albertson.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Albertson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Albertson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Albertson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Albertson connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.

Albertson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Albertson tries to pass to full mount but Jones defends it.

John Albertson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Albertson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Jones manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Albertson manages to get himself to full guard.

John Albertson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Derrick Jones.
I think Albertson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
