Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Dunn (ranked 5429 p4p, 4261 weight class) and Jordan Lovell (ranked 230 p4p, 377 weight class). Jordan Lovell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Dunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jordan Lovell!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lovell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dunn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dunn is trying to control Lovell's posture but Lovell avoids it.
Dunn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lovell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dunn keeps working.
Lovell controls the position from side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dunn tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lovell slows the pace down.
Dunn gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Well, if Lovell is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dunn wants to get back to full guard.
Lovell with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Lovell is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dunn tries to close the distance and clinch but Lovell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lovell throws a counter combo.
Dunn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lovell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Lovell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lovell is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lovell content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Dunn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Dunn is trying to maintain the position but Lovell is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dunn fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dunn takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Dunn scores with a head kick.
Dunn tries to clinch there but Lovell circles away.
Dunn blocks a head kick by Lovell.
Dunn with a poor takedown
and Lovell counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Dunn is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Dunn has his takedown stuffed
enabling Lovell to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Dunn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dunn is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lovell slips a jab and a cross from Dunn.
Lovell throws a front kick that sends Dunn stumbling back into the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Dunn shoots in but Lovell avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A punch combination from Lovell misses.
Dunn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lovell sprawls well. Lovell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dunn gets slowly back to his feet.

and Lovell finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Dunn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lovell paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lovell appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Dunn steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lovell. That one must have hurt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lovell shoots in and bounces Dunn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Dunn is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Dunn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lovell walks away with a smile on his face. Dunn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dunn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lovell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Lovell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Dunn kicks Lovell off and gets back to his feet.
Jordan Lovell seems to be getting the better of the standup.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dunn looks for a takedown but Lovell sprawls well.

Lovell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dunn tries to pull guard but Lovell forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Lovell has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dunn regains guard immediately.
Dunn wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lovell manages to pass to side control.

Lovell slows the pace down in half guard.
Dunn is trying to stand up here but Lovell is controlling him well.

Lovell postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dunn to stand up.
Dunn tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Lovell looking to score a takedown here. Dunn is defending well but Lovell drives through and ends up in Dunn's guard.
Lovell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Lovell stands and steps away. Dunn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Lovell goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Dunn forces Lovell back against the cage and clinches.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jordan Lovell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Lovell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dunn throws a head kick that misses.
Lovell now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lovell defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dunn.
Lovell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dunn.

Lovell lands with a hook. Dunn tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Dunn goes for a takedown attempt but Lovell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lovell throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Lovell forces Dunn back against the cage and clinches.

Dunn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lovell walks away with a smile on his face. Dunn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lovell throws a one two combo.
Lovell lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lovell.

Dunn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lovell gets to his feet. Dunn looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dunn throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lovell.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lovell clinches up with Dunn and pushes him back against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dunn creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Jake Dunn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jordan Lovell is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Dunn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lovell just stands there and leans against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jordan Lovell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lovell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
