Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Sidorov (ranked 584 p4p, 448 weight class) and Nicholas McDonald (ranked 24 p4p, 16 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sidorov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sidorov's Heart. Ivan Sidorov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sidorov shoots and misses
and McDonald counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Ivan Sidorov has been cut.
McDonald rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sidorov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Sidorov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sidorov showed some decent athleticism there.
Sidorov stops McDonald from getting back to his feet.
McDonald is looking to improve his position.
Sidorov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McDonald does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

McDonald trying to hold on to Sidorov's head to control him but Sidorov postures up.
McDonald pushes Sidorov off but Sidorov dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McDonald can't do much from the bottom here.

Sidorov wants to lay and pray for a moment but McDonald keeps working.
McDonald is looking for a sweep.

Sidorov is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down McDonald's shoulder. That is not cool.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sidorov is looking to take a break and control but McDonald is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McDonald is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sidorov is controlling him well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sidorov dives in and grabs McDonald's left leg, looking for a takedown. McDonald pushes down on Sidorov's head and hops out.

McDonald is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

The referee is keeping an eye on McDonald - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Sidorov closes this distance looking for a takedown but McDonald circles away.

McDonald stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McDonald wants it to stay on the feet.
McDonald scores with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McDonald lands with a hook. Sidorov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sidorov doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sidorov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Ivan Sidorov's cut is getting worse.
McDonald stuffs the takedown attempt from Sidorov. Sidorov gets slowly back to his feet.

Sidorov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sidorov lands in his opponent's guard.
Sidorov won't allow McDonald to get back to his feet.
Sidorov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McDonald's guard.
McDonald is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Sidorov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Sidorov dives in and grabs McDonald's left leg, looking for a takedown. McDonald pushes down on Sidorov's head and hops out.
Sidorov misses with a takedown attempt - McDonald sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sidorov gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nicholas McDonald seems to be getting the better of the standup.

McDonald displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sidorov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ivan Sidorov's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
McDonald lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Sidorov is looking to close the distance but McDonald sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Sidorov crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Sidorov is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
