Hawthorn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mac is fending him off so far but Hawthorn persists. Nope, Mac circles away and we're back to standing.

Hawthorn is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mac has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Mac has hold of Hawthorn's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hawthorn manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Hawthorn has his foot on Mac's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mac works his way back into a safe position though.

Mac seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Mac decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hawthorn stalks Mac and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mac's face. Mac staggers backwards, shaken.
Hawthorn misses with a jab, cross combination.

Mac shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mac was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mac connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Mac pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hawthorn tries to improve his position but Mac has taken his back! Mac has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Hawthorn tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Mac pushes Hawthorn away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
