Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uche Igwe (ranked 1092 p4p, 1678 weight class) and Antwan Tran (ranked 61 p4p, 88 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Uche Igwe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Antwan Tran!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Igwe is looking to score with low kicks.
Tran looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Igwe definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Igwe pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Igwe throws a poor cross that misses
letting Tran counter with a right hand.
Tran throws a lazy right hand but Igwe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Igwe clinches up against the cage.
Tran misses with a body punch.
Tran blocks an uppercut.
Igwe working aggressively here.
Tran throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Igwe swings wildly with an uppercut but Tran uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tran just leaning against Igwe, taking a breather.
Igwe tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A shot in the inside from Tran.
Tran scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Igwe misses with a body punch.
Tran is working Igwe over against the cage.

Igwe fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Tran is trying to break the clinch but Igwe has him pressed against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tran.

Igwe has a couple of punches blocked by Tran.
Igwe swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Tran blocking some punches.
Igwe gets through Tran's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Igwe prevents a body shot from Tran.
Tran is trying to force a seperation but Igwe has the dominant position.
Tran manages to break the clinch.
Igwe misses with a left hand
and Tran counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Igwe misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Tran counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A telegraphed right hand from Tran misses the target.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by Igwe.
Igwe connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Antwan Tran has been cut.
Tran chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Igwe can pounce on him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Uche Igwe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Igwe thumps Tran with a low kick.
Tran throws an off balance right hand
and Igwe counters with a crisp right hand that drops Tran! Igwe lets Tran back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Tran is rocked!
Igwe finds Tran's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Tran flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Igwe lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Tran will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Uche Igwe!
