PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between nathan basher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Drake Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drake Jr gets caught flat footed, as basher shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Drake Jr wants to sweep here but basher controlling him for the moment.
Drake Jr wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Drake Jr is squirming around, avoiding basher's attempts to control the action.
Drake Jr is trying to escape the mount but basher keeps good control and instead manages to take Drake Jr's back.
Drake Jr breaks basher's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Drake Jr wants to take a breather but basher is having none of it.

Drake Jr stands up and beckons basher to join him on the feet.
basher tries to land a leg kick but Drake Jr saw it coming and moves away.

Drake Jr drives through and clinches with basher against the cage.

A close round but Nathan Drake Jr will probably get the nod.

Drake Jr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Check out the look on Drake Jr's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Drake Jr remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Drake Jr shoots in but no luck this time.
basher misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Drake Jr tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Drake Jr is going olschool here, as he tries to force basher to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so basher shrugs it off.
BOOM! Drake Jr connects with a massive shot to the dome!
