Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Baka Suigetsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Takeida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Baka Suigetsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Takeida!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeida swinging wilding here.
Takeida looks to land a combination but Suigetsu avoids it well.
Takeida walks forward, straight into a front kick from Suigetsu.
Takeida misses with a two punch combination.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Suigetsu, right into the meat.
Suigetsu shoots in for a double leg but Takeida sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ryu Takeida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takeida throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Suigetsu shoots in but no luck this time.
Takeida rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Suigetsu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Suigetsu throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Takeida.

Takeida fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Suigetsu, pushing him back against the cage.
Suigetsu keeps control of Takeida as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Takeida is looking to break free of the clinch but Suigetsu has double underhooks.

Takeida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Suigetsu thuds his shin into the meat of Takeida's side.
Nice body kick there by Suigetsu.
Takeida throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Takeida looks gassed!
Suigetsu lands with a kick to the temple. Takeida shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

and Suigetsu counters with a nice double leg into side control. Takeida won't be happy with that.

Suigetsu is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Takeida's shoulder. That is not cool.
Takeida trying to control but Suigetsu flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Suigetsu controlling the position well here. Takeida rolled but Suigetsu kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Suigetsu's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Suigetsu throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Suigetsu struggling to land strikes to the head as Takeida covers up.
Suigetsu misses with a punch to the head.
Suigetsu is not going to allow Takeida to sit and survive in this position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Suigetsu takes one on the button.
Suigetsu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Takeida pinned against the cage. Takeida gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Takeida throws a left and a right that both miss
and Suigetsu counters with a low kick, right behind Takeida 's knee.
Suigetsu scoring well with a low kick there.
Suigetsu shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Takeida lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Baka Suigetsu has been cut.

and Suigetsu counters with a body kick that stops Takeida in his tracks momentarily.

and Suigetsu counters with a leg kick.
Takeida tries to clinch up but Suigetsu circles away and keeps his distance.
Takeida tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Suigetsu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Baka Suigetsu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Takeida lands with a nice combination. Suigetsu backs away looking to recover.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Takeida stalks Suigetsu and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Suigetsu's face. Suigetsu staggers backwards, shaken.

Takeida wants to hold on but Suigetsu pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ryu Takeida just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Takeida throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Takeida keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Baka Suigetsu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Suigetsu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Takeida's waist but Takeida gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Suigetsu off to one side.

Ryu Takeida comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Takeida has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
