Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Devlin Mudd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Chavalier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Lucas Chavalier enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Devlin Mudd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lucas Chavalier!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mudd fails to land with a series of punches.
Chavalier stuffs the takedown.
Chavalier throws a series of strikes that have Mudd backpedaling.


It looks like Devlin Mudd has been cut.
Mudd dodges the punch combination from Chavalier.

Chavalier gets the takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You can see the frustration on Mudd's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mudd is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chavalier's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Chavalier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mudd swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mudd had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chavalier is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mudd Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chavalier's back instead.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chavalier manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mudd's guard. Nice work there by Chavalier.
Mudd is breathing heavily.
Chavalier advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chavalier is controlling the pace.

Chavalier looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Mudd wants to control the action here but instead Chavalier manages to pass to full mount!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mudd tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mudd wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Chavalier has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mudd's body.

Chavalier has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Mudd trying to control the hands but Chavalier breaks the grip.

That's time! Mudd's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Chavalier looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Chavalier fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Chavalier tries to bum rush Mudd with a series of wild strikes but Mudd uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mudd lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chavalier circles away quickly and effectively.
Mudd doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Chavalier connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Chavalier gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A body shot lands from Chavalier.
Mudd tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Chavalier smiles and moves away.
Chavalier throws a right and a left that both miss.

Chavalier jumps into guard, dragging Mudd to the mat.

Chavalier working for a triangle but Mudd defends it easily.
Chavalier seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Chavalier stands up from Mudd's guard - Chavalier perhaps looking for a knockout.
Chavalier looks to land a combination but Mudd avoids it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Chavalier rushes Mudd and presses him up against the cage.

Chavalier ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Chavalier no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Chavalier has control of Mudd's left arm, preventing Mudd from doing any damage.

Mudd drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chavalier manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mudd has Chavalier in his guard.
Mudd tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Chavalier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Chavalier tries to bum rush Mudd with a series of wild strikes but Mudd uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Chavalier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mudd is working an open guard so Chavalier takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Chavalier decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mudd, up you get!
Devlin Mudd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Chavalier throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mudd.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Chavalier.

Chavalier thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Chavalier gets to mount! Mudd was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Mudd can't escape the position.

Chavalier gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Chavalier ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Chavalier looks to land a combination. Mudd sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Chavalier throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Chavalier throws a right hand that Mudd ducks under and follows up with a left that Mudd also avoids with ease.
Mudd takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Chavalier moves into the clinch.

Chavalier pulls guard successfully.
Mudd trying to control the position from guard on top but Chavalier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Chavalier wants to sweep but no luck.
Chavalier seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Chavalier keeping full guard, as Mudd tries to pass.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lucas Chavalier comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Chavalier has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
