Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between May May (ranked 4252 p4p, 4143 weight class) and Makoa Love (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Love shoots in but no luck this time.
Love shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
May drops down looking for a counter takedown but Love sprawls and moves away.

May shoots in and gets a takedown into Love's guard.
May postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
May pushing down on Love's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
May throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

May is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
May passes to full mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
May content just to control the position here.

Love is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
May lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
May throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
May breaks from Love's wrist control and lands an elbow.

May has hold of Love's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Love manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
May thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
May sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

May with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

May stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Love tries a head kick but it misses.

May shoots in and bounces Love off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
May controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
May has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
May postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Love looking to hit a scissor sweep but May is one step ahead there.
May is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

May scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Love tries to improve position but can't.
Love managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by May.

May decides to stand back up.
Love looks for a takedown but May sprawls well.
May May has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Makoa Love.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Love keeps the fight on the outside.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Love! But no joy.

May gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Love is trying to break the clinch but May has him pressed against the cage.

May May is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Love tries for a takedown but May sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Love shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts May as he jumps to the side.
May is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Love can do to turn this around?

May decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Love is looking to get back to is feet but May passes into side control.
Love is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
May content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Love is trying to control May's posture but May avoids it.
May is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Love's shoulder. That is not cool.
Love is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
May is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

May thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
May gets to mount! Love was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
May controlling his opponent.
May throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

A nice elbow there by May.

May working for a submission but Love is keeping him at bay.

May is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Love to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Love shrugs it off.
May working away from the top, dropping strikes.
May throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Love because May loaded up on that one.

May looking to secure an arm triangle but Love defends it well.
Love tries to get back to half guard but can't.
May moves to the back position.
Good control from May.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
May lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

May gets a double leg takedown into Love's guard.

Love dives in and grabs May's left leg, looking for a takedown. May pushes down on Love's head and hops out.

May had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Love defends it easily.
May lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Love really doesn't want to stay on the ground with May. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Love is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but May has just dragged him back down to the mat.
May moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
May advances to mount.
