PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Frennesson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Dardar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dardar has chosen Ten seconds to Love as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jesse Dardar was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastian Frennesson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Dardar!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frennesson tries a head kick but it misses.
Dardar misses with a looping right.
Frennesson throws a head kick but Dardar moves out of range.
Frennesson throws a jab when Dardar was well out of range.
Dardar throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Frennesson tumbling to the canvas!


Frennesson is rocked!


It looks like Sebastian Frennesson has been cut.
Dardar content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Oh Frennesson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Frennesson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dardar on the ground.
Dardar looking to pass the guard.
Dardar passes Frennesson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Dardar is working for a kimura but Frennesson is defending it quite comfortably.
Frennesson seems to have got his legs back now.
Dardar throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frennesson pushes Dardar off looking to stand but Dardar dives back in and keeps control.
Dardar wants to pass to mount but Frennesson is defending the position.

Dardar missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Dardar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Frennesson is just riding it out for now. Dardar eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dardar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dardar wants to work for an arm triangle but Frennesson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Dardar stops Frennesson from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dardar is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Frennesson gets full guard.
Frennesson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Frennesson keeping full guard, as Dardar tries to pass.
Dardar with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Dardar prevents Frennesson from getting back to his feet.
Frennesson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dardar's guard.
Frennesson cracks Dardar with a solid left hand.

Frennesson stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Frennesson lands with a slapping head kick.
Dardar throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Frennesson throws a sloppy head kick and Dardar moves out of range easily.
Jesse Dardar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dardar circles away from the clinch attempt.
Frennesson swinging wilding here.
Frennesson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Dardar throws an overhand right that lands on Frennesson's shoulder, as Frennesson tries to avoid the shot.
Frennesson throws a jab but it's blocked by Dardar.
Frennesson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Dardar checks it well.
Dardar fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Frennesson looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Frennesson stands and steps away. Dardar gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Dardar has a takedown stuffed.

Frennesson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Frennesson is looking to take a break and control but Dardar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Frennesson avoids the strikes from the bottom by Dardar.

Frennesson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Dardar wants to clinch up but Frennesson keeps it at a distance.

Dardar throws a hook but Frennesson blocks it.
Frennesson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Frennesson throws a sloppy head kick and Dardar moves out of range easily.
Frennesson tries to clinch there but Dardar circles away.
No joy there for Frennesson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dardar is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dardar throws a lazy right hand but Frennesson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dardar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Frennesson.
Jab, jab by Frennesson - just one landing.
Frennesson throws a head kick that misses.

Frennesson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Dardar looking for submissions off his back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dardar regains full guard. Nicely done.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dardar is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Frennesson has his hands clasped together but Dardar extends an breaks Frennesson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Dardar.
