Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Nascimento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nascimento's entrance music is PROMENTORY. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nascimento wants to clinch up but Rodrigues keeps it at a distance.
Nascimento drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rodrigues has his hands on Nascimento's head, controlling the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Nascimento is looking to stand up but Rodrigues won't let him.

Nascimento tightens his grip and picks Rodrigues up, before dumping him to the ground. Rodrigues manages to land in guard.
Rodrigues looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Nascimento puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Nascimento stalling away here and it's allowed Rodrigues to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Rodrigues is looking for a triangle but Nascimento pushes his legs off easily.

Rodrigues is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Nascimento stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rodrigues swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rodrigues connects with a nice short shot to Nascimento's temple.

Rodrigues takes a swing at Nascimento's ribcage but misses.
Rodrigues stalks Nascimento and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nascimento's face. Nascimento staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nascimento takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Rodrigues fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rodrigues tries to bum rush Nascimento with a series of wild strikes but Nascimento uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rodrigues is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodrigues has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Nascimento to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Rodrigues is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Nascimento pulls down on the head and he's put Rodrigues to sleep! This one is all over!
