Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Helio Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Chavez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sandstorm by DJ Darude. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, William Gold and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandao shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chavez as he avoids it easily.
Chavez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brandao manages to avoid it.
Chavez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Chavez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chavez connects with a right hand. Brandao shakes it off.
Brandao takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Chavez getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Brandao drops his hands momentarily and Chavez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Chavez misses the jab.
Chavez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brandao.
Brandao tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chavez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brandao somewhat.
Chavez misses with a low kick.
Chavez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Brandao takes one on the button.
Chavez misses with a straight right.
Chavez takes a swing at Brandao's ribcage but misses.
Chavez lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Brandao at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brandao is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Chavez.
Chavez misses with an uppercut.
Brandao takes one on the button.
Chavez misses with a looping right.
Brandao shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chavez but Chavez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Helio Chavez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Brandao.
Brandao is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chavez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Brandao gets the takedown into side control.

Brandao wants to control but Chavez is keeping him busy.

Brandao is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chavez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Brandao has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Chavez is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Brandao yanks on the arm and Chavez is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Brandao.
