Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Russel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noah Foreman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Russel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Noah Foreman!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foreman misses the shot to the body.
Russel shoots in looking for a takedown. Foreman tries to sprawl out of it but Russel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Foreman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Foreman connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Russel tries to close the distance and clinch but Foreman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Foreman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Russel.

Well, if Foreman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Foreman is trying to control the action in half guard but Russel is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Russel is looking to control Foreman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Russel avoid being mounted?

Foreman is looking for a kimura but Russel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Foreman to get the leverage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Foreman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Russel moves away.
Foreman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Russel.
Foreman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Russel circles away quickly and effectively.
Russel tries for a takedown but Foreman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Foreman counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Russel shoots for a takedown but Foreman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Russel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Foreman regains full guard. Nicely done.
Russel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Foreman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Russel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Foreman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Foreman seems to be working for a kimura but Russel defends the submission attempt.

Foreman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Foreman looks to score with a jab to the body but Russel is just out of range.
Russel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Foreman as he jumps to the side.
Foreman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Russel.
Foreman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Foreman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Russel won't be happy with that.
I wouldn't like to be where Russel is right now.

Foreman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Foreman decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Foreman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Foreman connects with a single shot there.

Russel shoots in and bounces Foreman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Foreman is breathing heavily.

Russel wants to control from the top but Foreman keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Russel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Noah Foreman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Russel can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
