Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.

Jones thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Griffin if he has to take too many more of those.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Griffin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jones to score with a decent uppercut.

Griffin keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Griffin takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Griffin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Griffin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Griffin is looking for a triangle here but Jones uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Griffin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back!
You can see the frustration on Jones's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Jones is trying to get back to his feet but Griffin has full control of the position and if anything, Jones has just worked his way into a worse spot.

and Griffin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Jones crunches a lovely knee into Griffin's ribcage.

Jones lands a big shot there that rocks Griffin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Jones cracks Griffin with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Griffin is bucking up trying to escape but Jones cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Griffin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Pedro Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Griffin is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Griffin gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Griffin gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Griffin apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Griffin swings wildly with an uppercut but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.
Griffin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
With the fighters up against the cage, Jones throws an elbow but misses.

Griffin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Jones has control of Griffin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Griffin regains control of the situation pretty easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
