Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Manta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Harper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leo Manta!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harper misses with a wild body shot.
Harper lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Manta takes one on the button.
Harper looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Harper shoots in looking for a takedown. Manta tries to sprawl out of it but Harper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Manta manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Manta changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Harper looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Manta tries to score with some ground and pound. Harper controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Manta lands a nice forearm strike.

Manta goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Harper rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Manta's guard! Nice work there by Harper!

Harper is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Harper uses his free foot to push down on Manta's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Manta.

Harper is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Manta has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Harper misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Manta tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Manta swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Manta wants to control but Harper is having none of it.
Manta is mounted and he's throwing punches. Is that wise?

Harper with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Manta is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Harper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Manta wants to sweep here but Harper controlling him for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Manta shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Manta was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Harper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Manta can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Manta looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Harper with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Manta is nestled in close to Harper, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Manta is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Harper has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Harper!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Manta shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
BOOM! Manta connects with a massive shot to the dome!
