Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Ceelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtis Ceelo!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ceelo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ceelo showed some decent athleticism there.
Connor avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ceelo.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connor is trying to stand up here but Ceelo is controlling him well.
Connor is staying active underneath Ceelo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ceelo working over Connor with some ground and pound. Connor looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Ceelo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Ceelo tries to pass to full mount but Connor defends it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ceelo in particular looking to stall.
I looks like Ceelo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Connor is defending against the submission attempts here by Ceelo.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ceelo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Connor is looking to escape.

Connor tries to lock up and control but Ceelo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ceelo misses with a wild combination.
Ceelo looks to score with a jab to the body but Connor is just out of range.
Ceelo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Connor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ceelo tries to clinch up but Connor circles away and keeps his distance.
Connor punishes Ceelo's body with a nice straight punch.

Ceelo shoots in and drives through. Connor sprawls well.
Ceelo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Connor circles away.

Jake Connor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Curtis Ceelo.
Ceelo is breathing heavily.
Connor lands with a hook. Ceelo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Ceelo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Connor wants to stand and escape but Ceelo is having none of it.
Ceelo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Ceelo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Connor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Connor throws a hook but Ceelo avoids it easily.
Ceelo walks into a left hand.
Connor connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ceelo momentarily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Connor throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Curtis Ceelo will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Ceelo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Connor!
Connor is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Ceelo has taken his back.

Ceelo just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Ceelo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Even with his hooks in, Ceelo manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Ceelo is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Connor has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Ceelo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Connor is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Ceelo tries to keep control of the position but Connor is staying busy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Curtis Ceelo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Curtis Ceelo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ceelo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
