The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

betancourt darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Grape has hold of betancourt's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and betancourt manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
betancourt is bucking up trying to escape but Grape cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Grape swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and betancourt is now in Grape's guard. A big mistake from Grape there, giving up the dominant position!
Grape is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Grape bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in betancourt's guard.
Grape stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. betancourt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
