The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shane shoots in and drives through. Saroyan sprawls well.
Saroyan looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Saroyan lands with a nice combination. Shane backs away looking to recover.
Shane blocks a head kick by Saroyan.
Shane fails with the takedown.

Saroyan moves into the clinch.
Shane drops down looking for an ankle pick but Saroyan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Agashi Saroyan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sugar Shane.
Saroyan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shane looks to clinch
and Saroyan counters with a nice leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shane fails with the takedown
and Saroyan counters with a head kick. That will keep Shane thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Saroyan throws a right hand that Shane ducks under and follows up with a left that Shane also avoids with ease.
Saroyan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shane circles away quickly and effectively.
Shane misses with a low kick.
Saroyan scores with a sloppy right hand. Shane should have avoided that one.
Shane shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Saroyan counters with a head kick.
Shane looks gassed!

Saroyan has Shane up against the cage in a clinch.

Shane tries for a takedown. No joy.

Saroyan tries to land a knee to the head but Shane blocks with his arms.
Shane is still on wobbly legs! Can Saroyan finish him?
Saroyan throws a knee to the head but misses.
Saroyan misses with a knee strike.

Saroyan jumps into guard, dragging Shane to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Saroyan is looking to sinch up a triangle. Shane throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Saroyan's body to avoid the submission. Saroyan has instead reached around Shane's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Saroyan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
