Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Head!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Penn.
Penn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Penn shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bj Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Penn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Head pinned against the cage. Head gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Head scores with a one two! Penn had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Penn throws a sloppy head kick and Head moves out of range easily.

Head gets a clinch.

Head pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Penn shoots in but Head avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Penn shoots in and drives through. Head sprawls well.

Penn will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Head closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Head manages to break the clinch.

Head lands a left hand that snaps the head of Penn backwards.

Penn is fighting off a takedown attempt but Head is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Penn to the mat. Penn regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Head goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Bj Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Head closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Head breaks from the clinch.
Head throws a right and a left that Penn avoids nicely.
Penn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Head but Head pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Penn closes the distance and clinches up with Head, looking for a takedown. Penn pushes Head against the cage but Head circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Penn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Penn shoots for a takedown but Head saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Head throws a series of punches but Penn moves out of range.

Penn shoots in for a double leg but Head sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Head pushes Penn up against the cage in a clinch.
Head digs a right hand into Penn's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Penn's gas tank.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Head wants to get up but he can't break Penn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Penn. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Penn drops down looking for an ankle pick but Head pulls his leg out and moves away.

Well Head has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
