The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Squires throws a lazy right hand but Dugald sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dugald misses the shot to the body.
Dugald shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Squires connects with a crisp jab.

Squires gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dugald drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dugald jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Squires had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dugald is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Squires Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dugald's back instead.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dugald is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dugald tries to close the distance and clinch up but Squires swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dugald clobbers Squires with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Dugald takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Squires lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Squires.

Dugald shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Squires sprawls well. Squires wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dugald gets slowly back to his feet.

Squires might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

It looks like Wenzeslaus Dugald has been cut.
Dugald tries to get into range but Squires steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Dugald! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Squires scores the big KO victory!
