Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Han Solo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewie Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin has chosen The Ride as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Han Solo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stewie Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Solo is trying to defend but Griffin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Solo is looking to control Griffin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Solo avoid being mounted?
Solo misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Griffin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Griffin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Griffin lands in his opponent's guard.

Solo has Griffin pulled in close to control his posture.
Solo is trying to keep Griffin in close.
Solo is breathing heavily.
Griffin throws and elbow that misses. Solo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Griffin's guard. Nice move by Solo!
Griffin wants to stand and escape but Solo is having none of it.

Griffin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Solo is aware though and is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Griffin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Solo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Solo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Solo's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Solo stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Griffin connects with a crisp jab.
Solo throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
A right-left combo lands from Solo.
Griffin fails to land the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Solo wants to clinch up but Griffin keeps it at a distance.

Griffin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Solo can't do much from the bottom here.
Solo is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Solo is working hard here to advance position.

Griffin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
You can see the frustration on Solo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Griffin tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Solo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Griffin's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Solo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Griffin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Solo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Griffin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Solo defends it well.
Griffin slips a nice elbow through Solo's hands, connecting with Solo's forehead.

Solo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Solo.
Griffin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Solo wants to sweep but no luck.
Solo is trying to hold Griffin in close to prevent damage but Griffin has managed to pass into half guard.
Solo is pressing down on Griffin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Solo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Solo looking for a sweep. Not yet Solo, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Solo thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Solo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Griffin is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Griffin flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stewie Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Griffin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Solo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Griffin throwing shots but Solo is blocking nicely.

Griffin is nestled in close to Solo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Solo wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are battling for position here. Solo manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Solo wants to control but Griffin passes easily into half guard.

Griffin is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Solo as he works his way to full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Solo is on top in guard.
Griffin keeping full guard, as Solo tries to pass.

Griffin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Solo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Griffin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Solo's back instead.

Griffin has the hooks in. Solo is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Han Solo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Griffin is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Solo knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Solo for a finish.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Stewie Griffin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Griffin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
