The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chronic scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Scotch Tape gets back to full guard.
Scotch Tape looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Chronic is in close to Scotch Tape's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Scotch Tape throws his legs up looking for a submission but Chronic uses it to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scotch Tape is looking to reverse the position.
Scotch Tape is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chronic's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Scotch Tape moves into full guard.
Chronic thows a big elbow that misses.
Chronic is in close to Scotch Tape's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Chronic postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Scotch Tape working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chronic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chronic manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chronic's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chronic tries to free his leg and advance position but Scotch Tape is retaining full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Chronic with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Chronic gets to his feet and stands over Scotch Tape, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Scotch Tape felt that one! Chronic unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Scotch Tape from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dustin Chronic!
