Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshi Takanahana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vince Cruise!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cruise rushes Takanahana and presses him up against the ropes.
Takanahana on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Cruise works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Cruise got a little sloppy there for a moment and Takanahana has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cruise has managed to get both his arms back between Takanahana's legs - danger averted.

Takanahana is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Takanahana looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cruise passes into side control.
Takanahana tries to bench press Cruise off him but Cruise keeps the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Takanahana has gone for a leg lock! Cruise slips out almost immediately though and dives into Takanahana's guard.
