The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rauhanen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Makunouchi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
It looks like Ippo Makunouchi has been cut.
Makunouchi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Makunouchi controlling the pace for now.
Makunouchi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Makunouchi tries to control but Rauhanen wriggling away.
Rauhanen is trying to stand up.

Makunouchi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Rauhanen has worked his arm free - good work by Rauhanen!
Makunouchi swings around for an armbar but Rauhanen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Makunouchi's guard.

Makunouchi has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rauhanen has passed into side control.
Makunouchi gets back to half guard.
Makunouchi is looking for a sweep. Rauhanen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Makunouchi trying to get back to full guard but Rauhanen takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Makunouchi tries to hold on but Rauhanen pushes him away.
Rauhanen stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rauhanen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Makunouchi.
Rauhanen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Makunouchi circles away quickly and effectively.
Makunouchi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rauhanen's waist but Rauhanen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Makunouchi off to one side.
Nice body punch from Rauhanen.
Danga de danga de dang - Rauhanen scores with a four punch combination!
Makunouchi looks gassed!
Rauhanen throws a nice looking combination but Makunouchi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Makunouchi shoots in for a double leg but Rauhanen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rauhanen, as that shot connected.

A solid leg kick lands there for Rauhanen.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Left hook, right uppercut from Rauhanen.
Makunouchi needs to keep his hands up - Rauhanen had a free shot at his head there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eetu Rauhanen dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Rauhanen throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Makunouchi misses the target.

That has opened up Ippo Makunouchi's cut even more.
Makunouchi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Makunouchi takes one on the button.
Eetu Rauhanen is winning the standup battle so far.
Makunouchi misses the body punch
and Rauhanen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rauhanen's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Rauhanen duly obliges.
Makunouchi is breathing heavily.
Rauhanen swinging wilding here.
Makunouchi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rauhanen counters with a left and a right that stings Makunouchi.
The cut above Ippo Makunouchi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Rauhanen lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Makunouchi sprawling to the canvas. Rauhanen follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Makunouchi hang on?

Rauhanen decides to return to a standing position.
Rauhanen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Makunouchi can do to turn this around?
Rauhanen lands a jab-cross combination.
Ippo Makunouchi's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
A right-left combo lands from Rauhanen.
Rauhanen throws a nice looking combination but Makunouchi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rauhanen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice uppercut there from Rauhanen.
Rauhanen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rauhanen lands a head shot.

and Rauhanen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Rauhanen counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Rauhanen throws a nice outside leg kick.
Makunouchi drops his hands momentarily and Rauhanen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rauhanen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

No joy there for Rauhanen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rauhanen jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Makunouchi stalks Rauhanen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rauhanen's face. Rauhanen staggers backwards, shaken.
Rauhanen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Makunouchi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rauhanen is fending him off so far but Makunouchi persists. Nope, Rauhanen circles away and we're back to standing.
Rauhanen scores with a one two! Makunouchi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Makunouchi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Rauhanen.
Rauhanen lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Makunouchi backs up against the cage.
Rauhanen lands a head kick. Makunouchi smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Makunouchi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rauhanen as he jumps to the side.
Eetu Rauhanen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ippo Makunouchi.
Makunouchi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
