The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
haggstrom throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

haggstrom decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kim is refusing to be controlled, as haggstrom sits in half guard.

Kim is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but haggstrom pulls his head out easily.

haggstrom trying to control the action but Kim is working from the bottom.

haggstrom is looking to take a break and control but Kim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Kim shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and haggstrom counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kim won't be happy with that.
Kim is looking for a sweep.

haggstrom is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kim is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Kim takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Kim decides to stand and escape the position.

haggstrom shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kim's guard.

haggstrom looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kim is pressing down on haggstrom's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

haggstrom looking to improve position, pressing down on Kim's thigh with his hand. Kim seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is haggstrom paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! haggstrom's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Kim picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
