Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lars Fightmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and haki zavos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lars Fightmann has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lars Fightmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, haki zavos!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fightmann showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from zavos.

zavos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fightmann is trying to control zavos's posture but zavos avoids it.
The referee asks zavos politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. zavos prefers to stall for the moment though.
Fightmann tries to buck zavos off but zavos is having none of it.

zavos gets to mount! Fightmann was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Fightmann is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if zavos gets his way!
Fightmann breaks zavos's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
zavos is trying to keep Fightmann in close.
Fightmann wants to pass the guard but zavos is keeping the position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as zavos holds on and takes a little breather.

Fightmann drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and zavos dives on top into guard.

zavos gets to his feet - Fightmann follows without any prompting.
Fightmann stuffs the takedown attempt from zavos. zavos gets slowly back to his feet.
zavos moves in looking to clinch but Fightmann pushes him off.
Fightmann throws a body punch but zavos moves out of range.
No luck for zavos with that takedown attempt.
zavos looks gassed!

zavos takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Fightmann lands with a shot to the body.
zavos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lars Fightmann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of haki zavos.
Fightmann displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from zavos.

Fightmann closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. zavos did well to prevent Fightmann getting side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but haki zavos will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Fightmann closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Fightmann manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. zavos manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fightmann drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fightmann jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
zavos keeping moving, preventing Fightmann from controlling successfully.
Fightmann tries to free his leg and advance position but zavos is retaining full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Fightmann lunges at zavos with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by zavos's hand.
zavos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Fightmann throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
zavos has his takedown stuffed

so Fightmann counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fightmann postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fightmann accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

zavos trying to keep a closed guard but Fightmann is proving a slippery customer.

Fightmann thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
zavos wants to control but Fightmann passes easily into half guard.

Fightmann is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Fightmann not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lars Fightmann dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



zavos closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - zavos lands in his opponent's guard.
zavos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
zavos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Fightmann looking for a guillotine here but zavos defends easily.
Lars Fightmann overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fightmann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! zavos has his hands clasped together but Fightmann extends an breaks zavos's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Fightmann.
