Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bubba Clem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clem comes into the arena with Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clem but Clem pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Velasquez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Clem walks away with a smile on his face. Velasquez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Clem can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Velasquez is looking to escape.
Clem takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cain Velasquez's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Clem wants the takedown. Velasquez is fighting it off but Clem persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Velasquez's guard against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Velasquez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Clem controls the pace.
