Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heste Pik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pik kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hestepik . Heste Pik could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Matt Morgan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heste Pik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pik looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Morgan throws a right and a left that Pik avoids nicely.
Pik avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Morgan is looking to clinch.
Pik throws a head kick that misses.
Oooh a lovely combination from Morgan sends Pik down but not out. Morgan dives into side control looking to finish.


It looks like Heste Pik has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Morgan in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Morgan takes a little break here. Pik wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Pik is trying to improve his position.
A lull in the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pik tries to escape but Morgan is in control.
Morgan controlling the position from side mount.
Morgan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Morgan landing a few strikes.
Morgan taking a breather here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Matt Morgan just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Morgan clinches.

Morgan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pik keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Morgan's efforts to push away.
Morgan wants to get back to striking at distance but Pik won't allow it.

Morgan has hold of one of Pik's legs. Pik is fighting the takedown attempt but Morgan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Morgan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morgan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I looks like Morgan might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Morgan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Heste Pik's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Morgan, as that shot connected.
Morgan lands a with a good body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Morgan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Morgan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Morgan content just to control the position here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Morgan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pik. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Morgan throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Morgan is leaning against Pik and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Pik misses with a hook from the clinch.

Morgan turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Morgan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Morgan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pik to his feet.
Morgan ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Pik defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Morgan.
Morgan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morgan throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pik on the side of the head.
Morgan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pik stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pik checks a leg kick nicely.
Morgan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pik at a distance.

Pik gets caught flat footed, as Morgan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Pik wants to stand up but Morgan is controlling him.
Morgan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pik is keeping the position for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pik looking to hit a scissor sweep but Morgan is one step ahead there.
Morgan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pik is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Morgan sitting in guard, not really doing much.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Morgan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pik, up you get!
Nice shot lands for Morgan.
Morgan is looking to land body kicks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Decent striking displayed by Morgan there.
Morgan throws a lazy head kick
and Pik counters with a big head kick but Morgan shrugs it off.

Pik moves into range and clinches up with Morgan.

Pik's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Morgan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Morgan darts in and clinches Pik up against the cage.
Pik trying to control the position but instead, Morgan has worked for underhooks and has pushed Pik into the cage.
Morgan blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Morgan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Pik wants to stand up but Morgan is controlling him.
Morgan sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Morgan wants to pass the guard but Pik is keeping the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morgan is stalling in the full guard.
Pik keeping full guard, as Morgan tries to pass.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Morgan is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Morgan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Matt Morgan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morgan tries to free his leg and advance position but Pik is retaining full guard.
Morgan is stalling in the full guard.
Morgan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pik's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pik is looking for a sweep. Morgan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Morgan trying to mount his opponent but Pik defends it.
Morgan controlling the pace.
Heste Pik has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pik is trying to get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Well, if Morgan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Matt Morgan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Morgan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
