Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luan Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rogerio padovan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sousa comes to the cage accompanied by Voodoo Child. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sousa fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sousa misses with a takedown attempt - padovan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sousa decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Sousa tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
padovan tries to roll over but Sousa keeps him under control.
padovan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for padovan.

Sousa avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

padovan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sousa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sousa trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Sousa gets to his feet - padovan follows without any prompting.
padovan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sousa avoids it really well and circles away.

padovan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

padovan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sousa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sousa is trying to get back to his feet.
Sousa is breathing heavily.

padovan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no padovan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
padovan prevents Sousa from escaping the position.

padovan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sousa pushes padovan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, padovan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

padovan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sousa has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sousa tries to escape but padovan is in control.

Sousa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for padovan on the ground.
padovan tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Sousa wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

padovan is working to tighten is grip on Sousa's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sousa has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but padovan is really squeezing tight and eventually Sousa passes out! padovan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
